SymAPI-9100 – Symphony API: Regional Workshop I (Queries , Extractions, Edits and Transactions
The API Regional Workshop is 4 days, 7 hours each day.
The SirsiDynix Symphony Application Programming Interface (API) Workshop teaches access to the core components of the Symphony system. The topics presented in the API workshop include:
- Tools used for performing batch transactions
- Tools used for recording these transactions to the logs
- Powerful utilities for gathering, editing, loading, exporting and formatting data
In addition, these SERF (Selection, Editing, Removal and Formatting) utilities are available to aid users in creating custom reports.
Pre-Requisites:
- Familiarity with SD Symphony Configuration/Administration
- Familiarity with SD Symphony WorkFlows, especially reporting
- Familiarity with UNIX or Windows Server operating system
- Knowledge of the following PERL functions: Variable declaration, String comparison, For each statements, IF statements, Integer comparison, System calls, Arrays, Split
Objectives:
- Learn tools that allow global selection, editing and removal of records
- Learn Report construction and review of all files needed to create custom reports and how they interact with each other
- Learn dataloading and data manipulation
- Learn details on the client/server relationship and tools that allow users to mimic global transactions such as charging, discharging, etc.
